Beach Mela to be held at Wandoor

The PRI Members of the Gram Panchayat, Hunfrygung, have decided to held a Beach Mela near Wandoor Beach from the 13th to the 15th of April, 2015, from 5:00p.m. to 8:00p.m., in order to develop the beach as a tourist spot. They feel that the existing shops on the beach are not enough to attract tourists. They plan to introduce terrain vehicles on the sandy beach.

The Mela will highlight the traditional food and culture of some of the Indian States. They will also set up handicraft stalls. The Panchayat feels that this event will initiate some steps towards Rural Andaman Tourism, said a communication received here today.
