Process to open up new Islands for Eco-tourism activities

The Department of Environment & Forest A&N islands has distinguished six islands for taking up eco-tourism/tourism activities. The Prime Minister of India has set the motivation to add to 1000 new destinations for household and remote visitors in not so distant future in the nation.

The Lt. Senator, A&N Islands made a declaration on 26th January, 2015 that the division of Environment & Forest will attempt to recognize a few Islands where Eco-tourism/tourism exercises may be taken up in order to support the monetary improvement of A&N gatherings of Islands furthermore to discover occupation for its young people.

The Lt. Senator held a meeting with the Chief Secretary, PCCF, secretary (Tourism) and CF ( WL ) on 04/06/2015 as to the advancement of ecotourism in the new ranges recognized by the branch of ecotourism incorporate Inglis Island, Sir Hugh Rose, North Button Island, Middle Button Island, Tarmugli Island, & Aves Island.

The Lt. Representative coordinated PCCF (WL) to submit idea note for eco-tourism advancement in these islands.
