Karmatang beach is considered the most attractive and the best beach of Mayabunder. This beach is located at a distance of about 20 kilometers from Mayabunder. Considered a turtle nesting ground by “The Olive Ridley Turtles” and the “Andaman Green Turtles”, this beach is a shimmering stretch of white sand and crystal clear waters.
This beach can be ideally visited for picnics, or just for spending a lazy-leisure-day and soak in some peace of mind. There are tree-houses, eco-shades, and eco-furniture lay out on this beach for the visitors by the forest department. There is a wide area nearby the beach covered with coconut plantation giving it more dramatically scenic view. Turtle nesting can be witnessed if you visit this beach between Decembers to February.
To reach Karmatang Beach - Hire a private jeep from Mayabunder to proceed towards Karmatang Beach. It’ll take about a 30-minutes long ride to reach this place from Danapur Junction.
