Cab services in the Andaman Islands are required to cover places across the Andaman Islands. Cabs are needed in South, Middle and North Andaman Islands to cover all the sightseeing places. Considering an island destination, the vehicles are very much in demand and limited availability is there especially in islands such as Havelock and Neil Island. During the season there is a huge shortage of vehicles and it is preferred to get your cabs booked in advance to avoid the last-minute hassle. Many end up paying high prices at the last moment for those who have not pre-booked.

After arrival in the Andaman Islands we don't entertain any cab booking services as most times it's fully sold out. We recommend advance booking for us to allot the vehicles for particular trip.
In addition, you need a very good ground team in the Andaman Islands for you cabs because there is weak - or no-mobile network coverage in many areas and it may be difficult for you to communicate with a taxi driver throughout your vacation. There are no app-based cab companies accessible in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, so you must rely on individual cabs or tour companies who organize tours across all the islands.

Cabs in Havelock and Neil Island
Apart from the main Andaman Island, cabs and car rental services are also available in two promising tourist islands at Havelock and Neil. One can book a cab to visit the Radhanagar and Kalapathar Beach and other significant sites within the Havelock. Rental bikes are available here.
The same goes with Neil Island you can reserve a car to move around Neil Island. But one thing to keep in mind is that not all islands offer car rental services so it is advised to keep track beforehand. Within these two islands do not reserve a cab to cover all the locations try to book the cab at the time of visit from one point to another.
Some Bonus Tips
- No self-drive cab/car service is generally offered in the Andaman Islands. It may cost you more for a dedicated vehicle in Andaman.
- Dedicated cabs for the whole lined up locations are not advisable due to the high-end prices.
- One can rent cabs as per the locations*(Port Blair, Neil or Havelock ) instead of booking it in for a whole lot of locations.
- But the above-mentioned point is not relevant on the main Andaman as the north, middle and south Andaman is largely separated so a dedicated cab with the island is a good option.
Are there self-driving cars in the Andaman Islands?
As of 2024, NO Self-driving cars are available in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands as per govt order. You can hire a car for an entire day with a driver.
