Scuba Diving in Neil Island

Scuba Diving in Neil Island opens all-new possibilities for the diving community in the Andamans. Scuba diving in Neil island is loved by many travellers, the sole reason is that Neil island is a budding destination and the reefs are still not much exposed to a lot of travelers. The best thing about diving at Neil Island is that you can spot a turtle or a Dugong (National Animal of the islands) while doing Scuba Diving. Consider yourself lucky if you spot them when you are diving in Neil. These animals are completely harmless and a treat to see them in their natural habitat.

The Scuba diving at Neil Island takes place at Bharatpur beach, this is the same place where you land when you come by a cruise from Port Blair or Havelock to Neil Island.
 

About the Diving Experience in Neil - Scuba Diving at Neil Island begins when you reach Bharatpur beach, this is where the dive center is located.  Your trip begins at a given allotted time (Depending upon the booking slot you get) from the dive shop where you gear up with all necessary scuba jackets, oxygen masks and other equipment required for the activity. Upon reaching the dive center you get a briefing on what to do and what to expect during the day; then you spend some time trying shallow water skills and getting comfortable with the gear.

You are instructed with various signs and basics about how to use the equipment underwater. All the necessary safety procedures are taught before the dive begins in Neil. We follow the Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI) general standards and recommendations. Trained professional divers assist you during the dive.

A dive professional is in the water with you at all times and will handle your safety.

During this diving experience, we go on a boat to the diving site. The boat ride takes place once all your training and basic know-how are completed.
 

The maximum depth of this program is 12 Mtr – how deep you want to go depends upon your comfort level and the instructor's discretion (we want you to have fun, but safety obviously comes first!). The duration of the dive depends on you, your air consumption and your comfort level. This program lasts up to 40 Minutes.

We suggest you carry a pen drive/dongle to take your video after the dive ends. We usually provide a CD, however, we have faced circumstances where the CDs get corrupted after the customers get back home.

By default, the trips commence at 8 am, but if you are coming on the ferry we'll try to schedule a different time slot.
 

Swimming skills are not required to avail this activity
