Book a bus ride from Port Blair to Baratang Island including visit to Limestone Caves. The Baratang island trip brings forward the tropical side of the Andaman Islands. Dense Forest, Tribes, Mangroves, Dongi rides, beaches, birds, caves and trekking. Well, Baratang has all of these to offer. This is a full-day trip and presents the tropical side of the islands.
The trip includes all the transfers on a shared AC bus. Since this is a shared bus, there are specific pick up points. Our guides will assist you in case you require any help. Also note, children above the age of 2 will be charged with the full amount for a bus ride.
Important - Bus picks up only from specific designated areas in Port Blair such as Aberdeen Bazaar, Phoenix Bay, Marine Jetty, Goal Ghar, Junglighat, Dairy Farm Junction, Bhatu Basti, and Sippighat. If your hotel is not at this location then you will have to reach the pickup location by yourself at 3:30 AM.
Your journey begins at 3:00 AM on a shared AC Bus from Port Blair by road through the dense tropical forest to reach the starting point of the entrance, which leads to the Jarawa Tribal Reserve.
The Forest Department Officials will open the gates for the entry to Baratang and all the vehicles are allowed to pass through the tribal reserve in a convoy. Often you might spot a member of the Jarawa Tribe while passing through the tribal reserve.
At the end of this forest journey, you will reach the Baratang jetty. Launch service is available to cross the sea bay.
Then enjoy the breathtaking fiber boat ride through a fascinating Mangrove drive, which leads to the start point of the trek to Limestone caves. Trek through dense forest to reach the Limestone Cave. It is made up of the mineral calcite (calcium carbonate) and the cave formation is beautiful. After returning have lunch and then Proceed to the Mudvolcano, one of the rarest things to see the wonders of nature.
Have lunch post-trip to Limestone Caves and then start your journey back to Port Blair. The bus will follow the same route to return back to Port Blair.

You will reach Portblair around 6 pm, relax at your hotel and enjoy an overnight stay at Port Blair.
People having a knee or back ailment should avoid planning for this trip as the road toward Baratang is long and bumpy at times. The trek inside the cave and the walk towards the Mud Volcano have to be considered while planning for senior citizens having difficulty in walking.

It is strictly prohibited to take pictures or to interact with the tribes. You may be sent to jail for violating these rules.
